Snow Hill Music is a full service, full time professional recording studio. If it has anything to do with audio, we do it! We record bands, solo performers, church choirs, books on tape/CD, voice overs, sound effects, etc.. We also do digital editing for dance companies (recitals & competition), cheerleading, dressage and forensic work (noise removal from tapes). We also do transfer work; standard cassette, micro cassette, reel to reel, minidisc, vinyl to CD while removing clicks and pops and other noises. We duplicate CDRs and custom loaded cassettes. Everything can be done in house with a typical turnaround time of two days. (see our rates page) We also do video editing and DVD duplication.

It was designed by Richard Rose of Hot House Audio in New York and built by David Kolbinsky (Hillsborough). It measures approimately 19' by 16' with a 14' ceiling and features 11 different sides, none parallel. (all measurements are approximate due to non-parallel sides) The front wall is separated from the main room by a 1/2" air space. Typical construction throughout the studio consists of walls containing two layers of sheetrock, two layers of soundstop board, TF1 sound absorption material, west coast red cedar or Guilford cloth, and filled withThermaFiber Soundblanket. Some walls even contain lead (safely sealed). Cable used throughout the studio is by Canare or Mogami (much better specs than Belden). Main lines into the DAW are by Kimber cable ($6/ft).

The main room is approximately 23' by 24' (no parallel sides, lots of nooks & crannies) and features a floating hard wood floor and a 14' ceiling. There are many surfaces in this room such as, western red cedar, TF1 absorption material, cedar shakes and glass block. The isolation room is approximately 8' by 9' with a 9' ceiling. A nice size for a full trap set or large guitar rig.

Let us help you with all of your audio needs. If you like a user friendly, comfortable at home work environment to work in, we're it.
